Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel  






Job Objective:
To assist the Chief Legal Counsel and in the provision of legal services to our client and its subsidiaries. Draft standard legal agreements and contracts and assist in the execution of  contract negotiations through the Chief Legal Counsel.
 
  • Key Responsibilities:

    Provide professional legal advice, clarifications and legal opinion to the organization under the direction of the Chief Legal Counsel.
  • Assist the Chief Legal Counsel in project negotiations and in the process of providing legal advice to protect the organization from adverse legal consequences.
  • Explain and clarify statutory provisions and legal procedures to Divisions within the organization and monitor their implementation.
  • Study documents, contracts, memorandum of understanding (MoU's), and letters from a legal standpoint and ensure the organization's position is protected.
  • Preparation of cases for litigation, reviewing documents relating to transactions in which the company is to participate.
  • Draft standard legal agreements and contracts relating to various business aspects under the Chief Legal Counsel directions.
  • Actively participate with external legal firms in the provision of legal support to the organization and its projects.
  • Assist the Chief Legal Counsel in providing well-researched expert advice to Divisions and subsidiaries on legal matters connected with the organization's business.
  • Contribute to the development of standard legal documents and templates to facilitate speed and efficiency in the Department's services
  • Remain abreast of developments in relevant aspects of law and be familiar with the government and federal rules and organizations.
  • Develop own skills in order to enhance the quality of contribution. Assist the seniors in creating awareness amongst the Legal team regarding position on legal issues
  • Maintain legal database of all original documents and templates.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as directed by the Chief Legal Counsel.

  • Qualifications:

    Bachelor degree in Law
  • Professional qualification in the UAE, in addition to a recognized jurisdiction
  • Admitted to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction

Experience:
 
  • 6 - 8 Years of relevant experience in international law firms or in a corporate legal department of a professional organization
