JOB PURPOSE:

 

Carryout reviews and provide professional advice to ensure that the company’s operations are conducted in accordance with the Abu Dhabi and the UAE legal requirements. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Advisory 

  • Provide professional advice on legal issues and follow up the external litigations, (police & labour cases, local courts, pension funds etc.). 

  • Handle as assigned dealings with Government departments and local industrial / commercial organizations on legal affairs. 

  • Review, monitor and safe keeping/Archiving the Official Gazette and report amendments/new laws relevant to the Company/ employees in the legal aspect. 

  • Review and comment on Bidders’ qualifications, contracts terms and conditions, bank guarantee, performance bonds and insurance policies. 

  • Process various licensing applications for the Company and deal with various licensing authorities in this regard. 

  • Review and prepare feedback reports on cases related to Labour law affairs and litigations. 

  • Support HR division the follow up of Company’s legal matters with Abu Dhabi Pension Fund. 

  • Coordinate the translation and legalizing of the Company/ corporate legal documents. 

  • Control the archive of various legal records within the department. 

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive in-house legal library enabling the department to address the various legal issues in a faster and efficient manner. 

  • Monitor and ensure the orderly disposal of legal records, evaluate continuously and recommend changes of retention schedules to maintain and improve reliability and effectiveness. 

 

Supervision 

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. 

  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 

Minimum Qualification 

  • Bachelor Degree in Law or equivalent Professional Qualification. 

 

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills 

  • 6 years of experience in successful legal practice & advisory support within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
