More about the role

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. 

As Legal Counsel you’ll be part of the global Legal function of Signify with the responsibility for providing legal support to the Signify commercial organization in the Netherlands. The role consists of providing commercial advice, advising and supporting contract negotiations in all aspects, raising legal awareness, as well as claims handling.

Your challenge

  • Providing legal guidance and expertise to support business leaders and managers in daily decision-making processes
  • Collaborating as an integral member of the legal team, engaging both internal and external legal experts to deliver comprehensive and high-quality legal support
  • Serving as legal advisor on a wide range of contracting and commercial matters, in particular on products, systems, solutions and services businesses (projects), while considering commercial, operational and financial aspects
  • Advising on public procurement matters, government contracts and strategic business partnerships
  • Operating as Compliance Officer, helping to embed Signify’s Integrity code and Compliance into daily commercial practices, through awareness trainings and supported by subject matter experts at Group Legal across key compliance domains
  • Providing legal support on claims handling and litigation matters
  • Contribute to cross-functional legal initiatives, offering an unique opportunity to broaden your expertise and collaborate internationally with colleagues across diverse legal domains

More about you

  • Master’s degree in Dutch law
  • At least 6 years’ professional legal experience in various fields such as contracting, commercial, projects and compliance.
  • Practical, solution oriented while addressing legal requirements, exposure, and compliance
  • Good social and communication skills, native in Dutch, fluent in English
  • Experience in contract management and contract drafting
  • Experience in public procurement law is preferred
  • Able to explain and convince stakeholders, both internally as well as externally
  • Able to bridge business needs, corporate policies and applicable local laws including taking a stake in risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills on different organizational levels
