More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as an  Intellectual Property Counsel (IP) Counsel to join our Intellectual Property team in Eindhoven.

As an IP Counsel you’ll be a strategic IP advisor to Signify's business and research organizations. This will include building the IP portfolio, protecting the businesses and contributing to securing value from the portfolio.

What you’ll do

  • Create and deploy a strong IP portfolio aligned with the IP portfolio plan for assigned area in relevant Signify R&D and commercial groups, in accordance with guidelines and time limits; prosecuting, or having prosecuted, IP applications within guidelines and time limits, including instructing IP Counsels and IP agencies in other countries to ensure the broadest possible protection can be obtained globally.
  • Propose and negotiate strategic IP solutions regarding third parties and their IP, supporting Signify’s competitiveness, growth and profitability, in close cooperation with Signify business, R&D and Legal.
  • Internal IP and external promotional activities related to IP awareness; maintain and share current knowledge of legal/technical developments.
  • Manage non-standard situations independently, adapting according to circumstances; demonstrate a proactive and long-term view, while formulating balanced, short-term actions with long-term consequences in mind.
  • Continuously Influence management processes, increasing flexibility, responsiveness and reducing time and cost.
  • Promote cross-functional cooperation, including information flow and mutual support; maximize effectiveness of cross-functional processes, development and improvement processes and analytical frameworks to support the business. 

More about you

  • (Under)graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or comparable
  • 3+ years of working experience in Intellectual Property
  • Successfully completed (part of) the European Qualifying Examination (EQE)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills to operate at all levels
