More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as an IP Licensing Professional in our IP Team in the Southern European region with Signify.

Ideally, this role is based in France.

As an IP Licensing Professional, you will focus on licensing-out and will take responsibility for managing a number of licensing projects, together with developing a pipeline of new potential licensees.

  • Analyzing Signify’s patent portfolio and identifying and developing new IP exploitation/licensing opportunities in Southern Europe, with a special focus on France.

  • Assess the opportunity and identify relevant products and patents.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects, initiating and developing relationships in a structured and professional manner.

  • Leading and participating in projects to realize the potential value of new business cases, guiding the prospects through the process while managing all stakeholders.

  • Actively negotiating and closing licensing agreements.

  • Maintaining relationships with key existing customers through strategic account management and monitor compliance of licensees.

  • Continuing with implementing a licensing strategy for Signify in the region, in line with the broader international strategy.

  • As part of the specialist Licensing team, liaising closely with colleagues in other regions, like Northern Europe, China, Japan and the US.

  • Assisting in preparing regular review presentations to Signify’s senior management and key stakeholders in the process.

  • Actively raising awareness internally of IP licensing, building and establishing relationships with key stakeholders and groups within Signify.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • You hold a Master's degree or higher.

  • +10 years of working experience in Intellectual Property (IP), ideally in Patent Licensing.

  • Preferably qualified European Patent Attorney or at minimum pursued specific IP training and/or licensing training.

  • Excellent communication in English is a must, and fluent communication in French is a big plus.

  • Strong influence and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

  • Experience/background as technical expert and/or lawyer, counsellor.

  • Strong understanding of the IP process and ability to handle standard situations.

  • Demonstrate collaborative working with stakeholders.
