Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Negotiation & Drafting

Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including master sales agreements, distribution agreements, procurement contracts, and service-level agreements.

  • Business Advisory & Risk Management

Provide strategic legal and commercial advice to internal stakeholders on business practices, risk allocation, policy compliance, and dispute avoidance. Actively participate in deal structuring and early-stage issue spotting.

  • Regional & Cross-Border Collaboration

Align with legal counterparts in EMEA, the Americas, and HQ to ensure consistency in legal strategy, especially around sales contracts and commercial policies.

  • Dispute Resolution & Litigation Oversight

Manage and coordinate external counsel for dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Provide internal guidance on potential claims and pre-litigation matters.

  • Compliance & Regulatory Insight

Assist with regulatory issues including trade compliance, data protection, and employment law across the region, working closely with local teams and external counsel where necessary.

  • Government Contracts Support

Analyze public sector opportunities and provide guidance to teams involved in tenders or government procurement processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

  • Executive Reporting & Strategy

Prepare clear, concise legal summaries and recommendations for senior leadership, enabling informed, risk-aware business decisions.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution
  • Qualified to practice law in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction (e.g., UK, Australia, U.S.)
  • Minimum 10–12 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house legal roles
  • Strong experience in commercial contract negotiation and advisory
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance, employment, corporate governance, and litigation matters
  • Prior experience supporting multi-jurisdictional transactions or cross-border business preferred
  • Fluent in English; additional regional languages (e.g., Mandarin) are a plus
