The Visa Asia Pacific Legal team manages Visa's legal affairs in the Asia Pacific (AP) region. Our team provides advice and services to ensure business goals are met while protecting Visa's brand and reputation and minimizing legal liability and regulatory risk. What a Sr. Associate Counsel in Legal does at Visa:
We are seeking a proactive product and commercial lawyer to join our growing Legal team, based in our Singapore office, focusing on supporting Risk and Identity Solutions in the Asia Pacific region. This role may also support the development and expansion of new and existing products within Visa’s Value-Added Services business, including cybersecurity services and legal integration of acquisitions in the risk and identity space. The position reports to the Senior Managing Counsel in Visa’s Asia Pacific Legal team supporting Visa’s Value Added Services businesses and the Privacy and Risk and Compliance functions within the AP region.
The applicant should have extensive legal experience within the AP region, including a good understanding of relevant commercial, technology, IP, and financial services laws. Experience of the development and implementation of AI or Gen AI based platforms, systems, or products would be advantageous. The applicant must have solid technical legal skills, good commercial as well as legal risk judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong negotiation skills, good judgment, and being a creative problem solver are essential. The applicant should be self-motivated, optimistic, curious, and a collaborative team player.
We are looking for a strong legal advisor and commercial lawyer with excellent communication and analytical skills. Prior payments experience is not essential, but the applicant must be willing to learn Visa's business model and the payments industry.
